Musaceae

Plants of the Musaceae family include herbaceous plants and angiosperms (flowering plants) having a very large size and which have the particularity of having a pseudo trunk producing numerous leaves at its base. Musaceae do not have branches, strictly speaking, like trees.

Musaceae are perennial or monocarpic, i.e. the life cycle of the plant is growth, flowering, seed production and then the plant dies.
