Description:
Musa maclayi is native to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. It is considered one of the ancestors of banana cultivars.
The plant has a red sap, an erect flowering and fruiting stem. Its leaves are narrow and stiff.
The fruits, inedible, are rounded and arranged tightly together in clusters.
