This banana tree is one of the most beautiful and majestic. This species originates from regions of East Africa, where it grows in its native range at heights of 1500-3000m.
It is a very large banana tree that grows very quickly. It can produce very large leaves up to over 3 m long.
The outside of the leaf bears very decorative red veins.
This banana tree is a very fast growing plant that requires a lot of fertilization and watering as well as a fertile substrate.
It grows very well in temperate climates, although it is not a frost hardy plant.
In a summer season in our climate, it can reach 2-3m. In Europe we can grow it as a potted plant for the terrace, although it does not reach such spectacular sizes in a pot as when growing directly in the ground.
It is possible to grow this banana tree in the ground. In this case, it must be planted after the last frosts and dug up before autumn and the first cold weather. In winter, it should be stored in a cool room, about 10-12 degrees, without indirect sunlight and without watering.
