Description:

This heliconia can reach a height of 2 meters in its native area.

It is a beautiful tropical plant that produces flowers called bracts, they are red and yellow in color.

Its rhizome produces many shoots bearing leaves resembling those of the banana tree.

Although it is possible to grow it in the ground in the garden, it is preferable to grow it in a pot and bring it indoors for the winter.

In temperate climates, flowering extends from May to August and even all year round in good conditions.
