Very beautiful perennial tropical plant of the bromeliad family, it is native to the forests of South America.
The plant produces an inflorescence which is characterized by an erect stem of pink color which is crowned by green flowers. The stem originates in the middle of a tuft of broad, thin, light green leaves.
In temperate climates, it can be grown in pots outdoors during the hottest periods but should be brought indoors when the outdoor temperature drops below 10°C for long periods.
Outdoors, the plant can reach a height of 1 meter including inflorescence, indoors it will reach a height of 50 centimeters.
