Heliconias are surprising plants with multiple ornamental qualities.
The champneiana variety produces an inflorescence of about fifteen yellow bracts variegated with red. The plant reaches a size between 1.5 and 4 meters high. The pot culture will contain its size but its inflorescence will be even more generous.
Be careful, however, that grown outside its area of origin, this plant will need a monthly supply of fertilizer to develop properly.
Flowering extends from spring to August and even all year round in good conditions, such as in a heated veranda.
