Description:

This small shrub offers, in addition, a surprising trunk. Indeed, it is covered with spines of small size relatively spaced. In adulthood the trunk does not exceed 40 centimeters in circumference.

The branches covered with rows of light green leaves are dotted with bright yellow flowers with a pleasant fragrance. Flowering is generous, especially during high spring and summer temperatures.

This beautiful shrub can be planted in isolation along a sunny wall in the hottest regions (south of France), a supply of fertilizer every two weeks in spring and summer in cooler regions.

This plant has many uses. It offers antibacterial and anticoagulant properties. A reddish dye called brazilin is extracted from it, which is used to dye clothes, in natural paints and in inks.
