Aloe ferox is a plant on the list of plants threatened with extinction.
This plant can reach 3 meters in height in its area of origin and in optimal growing conditions. In a temperate climate this aloe will reach between 1 meter and 1.5 meter.
It produces fleshy and thick leaves, arranged in rosettes, which at maturity can weigh up to 2 kilograms. The leaves are green and edged with reddish-brown spines. Thorns are also present on the lower and upper sides of the leaves.
The inflorescence produces a meter-high bract covered with red or orange flowers.
Its leaves are full of a yellow sap which is used as a laxative and a white gel which is used in health drinks and for skin care. Be careful, the sap is toxic for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
The seeds we sell are for ornamental purposes only.
