Description:
Beautiful species with a pyramidal shape, becoming ovoid with age. It is decorative by its dense, dark green foliage: the needles of about ten centimeters, are grouped in pairs.

In spring, the Austrian black pine is spectacular: its young shoots erect on the branches are reminiscent of candles on a Christmas tree.

It can be planted in isolation but it is most often planted in small groups. Supporting pruning very well, it is a subject selected by bonsai enthusiasts. It can be worked in pots or in the ground to create a giant bonsai.
