This species of heliconia is small, it reaches a height between 1 meter and 1.5 meters.
It is a beautiful tropical plant that produces flowers called bracts, they are bright red, orange and yellow.
Its foliage is persistent and resembles that of the banana tree. Its rhizome produces many shoots.
Although it is possible to grow it in the ground in the garden, it is preferable to grow it in a pot and bring it indoors for the winter.
In temperate climates, flowering extends from May to August and even all year round in good conditions.
