Description:

Eucalyptus nitens is a very large, fast-growing tree native to high rainfall mountainous regions of mainland Australia. It can easily reach a height of 60 meters in its original environment but it will not exceed 30 to 40 meters in the garden.

Its bark is decorative, greenish at the origin then reveals after exfoliation a smooth and shiny bark (hence its name) which goes from white to mahogany red through yellow-green. The leaves are large, glaucous, bluish, pinkish and purple and give off a strong aromatic odor. The flowers appear in autumn, are white and arranged in clusters of 3 subjects.

It appreciates the supply of water during the growth period (spring and autumn) and tolerates moist soil very well. This eucalyptus can live for over 200 years.
