Symbolic tree of Lebanon, it is a magnificent subject which offers a pyramidal port when it is young then the crown flattens clearly with age.
The branches are widely spreading, almost horizontal, covered with small pointed leaves (dark green to gray-green) two to three centimeters long, slightly flattened, grouped by ten or twenty.
The bark is black or brown with shallow scaly cracks. The fruits are 8 to 12 centimeter barrel-shaped cones, grayish green to brown.
